Paterson's popular cartoon character 'Little Eric of Berhampore' was eager to congratulate the All Blacks on winning the second test against the British Isles with a score of 8-0.

A.S. Paterson (1902-1968) was the Dominion's first daily cartoonist, from 1925-1950. He was also a popular illustrator and watercolourist.
